I have to say thanks to my boyfriend I got into Tamora Pierce. She has now become one of my favourite authors.
She has written the following series:
The Song of the Lioness quartet
The Immortals quartet
The Protector of the Small quartet
The Circle of Magic quartet (This series is written in a different area than the rest of them, same as The Circle Opens Quartet).
The Circle Opens quartet
Trickster Series (This would have to be my favourite out of all of them).
Beka Cooper Series
She has also written this books:
The Will of the Empress
Melting Stones
On top of these books she has also written some short stories.
My recommendation if you were going to pick up any of these stories would be to start with the Trickster Series. It's the one where I first started and I'm so glad that I did. As much as I enjoyed the others, this would have to be the ultimate set of books.
The other series that I really enjoyed would have been The Protector of the Small series. They are also another good set of books to start reading.
Has anyone ever read any of her work? If so, what did you think of it?

I've heard of her and some of the books.... But I have not read any of them. Since you mention it though, I may just go to Borders and pick me up a copy!

lol, I reckon it's worth it. I find that a lot of people (in my age group) don't tend to read 'youth' books because of the stereotype of it. Which is sad because they are missing out on so many good books!

Yeah most "youth" books tend to be more "simple." But you're right: there are tons of well written and amazing youth books. Like Ranger's Apprentice

Yep, if only people were not afraid of having stereotype placed onto them.
If you do get one of her books you'll have to give your opinion on it, I'd like to hear it.

I haven't read her, but I'm always looking for new "youth" or "teen" fiction. I love Harry Potter, Eragon, Twilight, the Percy Jackson books and of course, the Ranger's Apprentice.

I seen the Percy Jackson film the other night and thought it was fantastic! I will have to look into reading the book(s)?....
I enjoyed the Harry Potter books and I thought Twilight was a whole heap of fun. I have to say though that New Moon was my fav. (I think I might just go start a new thread, huh?)

My little brother and a friend of mine both saw it, and they said it was a good movie but it didn't follow the books.

I'm guessing you are meaning Percy Jackson? Oh well, it was lots of fun and entertained me. I guess that's the main thing. I find it hard for people making movies to follow the books, everyone is too critical of these sorts of things. I think it comes down to your own personal choice and actually take the movie or the book for what it is.
